January 16: We've got Gregg Braden
Today's Kick Start message is all about reminding you that we have research-based science to back up everything we are alluding to in this program.
In a 37-minute audio interview, New York Times best selling author Gregg Braden ('The Isaiah Effect' and 'The God Code') speaks about his newest book, 'The Divine Matrix: Bridging Time, Space, Miracles and Belief.'
(Read about the special promotion Hay House authors have teamed up to create for the outstanding book at: http://promos.hayhouse.com/promos/braden/)
Here's a preview of the interview:
"Western science has only arrived in the last few years at the place where ancient and indigenous spiritual traditions begin.Western science has arrived at the place where they say 'Oh yeah, there's a field of energy out there and it connects everything.' And so scientists are asking 'What does it mean? What do we do with it?'
Ancient traditions, this is where they begin. They say 'Oh yeah, well sure, everything is connected. That's a given.'
And then their practices start from that place and they say, 'Now we'll take you one step further. Here is what this connection means in your lives. Here's how you apply it to help you to become better people and to help the lives of your family and your communities.'
So my question was, 'What happens if we marry those two ways of knowing into a greater understanding and then apply that understanding to where we find ourselves today - to the greatest challenges of recorded human history: the threat of a global third world war, the threat of diseases that we don't have any defense against right now, the threat of abrupt climate change that can shift everything we that know and the way that we live our lives day to day?
What if all of those seemingly disparate problems and challenges are all part of what's happening within this field - this Divine Matrix now as its being called - and because we're part of that field, what role do we play in the way those things unfold in our lives?
And the reason I wrote this book was to explore and to get some very powerful tools in terms of what we can do in our daily lives within the context of where we find ourselves in this world."

For today, the sixteenth day of 2007, I wish you a more complete understanding that YOU can be the source of miracles in your life.
As Gregg Braden explains:
"Seemingly miraculous experiences don't have to happen by chance. Once we understand what causes them and how to evoke them in our lives, then we can begin working with them intentionally. For twenty years I've been amazed at the things people can accomplish once they understand these relationships - once they understand that we are truly all connected: that we are a part of all that we see".
Best to you!

Hello Elyse,
I am sorry if I am putting a damper on things here but something has been troubling me and it could be that it is a reflection of the resistance I am feeling really strongly now, but while I appreciate everything that Gregg Badden has to offer, I think the Hayhouse offers that say things like you 'Order this book today or lose the opportunity to get the following free gifts' cheapens this whole process. I am not sure if I am the only person who feels this. I really object to this forum being used to sell things. I am sorry to inject a negative note into this forum but I wanted to try and prevent this from happening again.
Thanks

Dear Sreelatha,
This certainly speaks to how we choose to look at something. From my perspective - it seems that this blog is a free service (presented as a gift), Gregg Braden's audio interview is also a free service (and a gift), and, finally, the Hay House authors have joined together to give additional gifts to people who find themselves drawn to the the book - so that everybody wins.
The notion that commerce and spirituality should not be mixed reflects contradictory energy on the subject of money and the offering of goods and services which does not serve anyones 'abudance' mentality.
While I personally would not want to do one of these promotions for my work, I do appreciate that I have the option to buy the book or not buy the book. To buy today or to buy another day. But the choice always rests with me.

Elyse,
Thank you for the response. To be honest my posting has been bothering me since I posted :-). It is just one more thing that seems to have come and blocked the progress I thought I was making.
You are right, I probably do ascribe to the notion that sprituality and commerce do not mix, at a very deep level. The funny thing is that I went to amazon.com and ordered the book, although I did not do it through the website. Since I have your attention, I would like to ask you about something else that is bothering me a lot.
A number of times over the past few years, I have made promises (deals really) with the powers that be. They have almost always related to woories about my daughter. On many of these occasions I have promised to stop drinking wine (which is a drink I really like), until she gets into a good university, or she succeeds in this or that..
Almost invariably I have started drinking wine again before she reached the goal I (!) had set for her. The past few years have been a roller coaster for her. Invariably although I justify it, and talk myself into believing that my drinking a glass of wine a day really could not affect her life, I feel really guilty and almost invariably there has been a big unexpected crisis in her life.
Through this website and others, I have come to realize that it is probably the worry and focus on bad things happening to her that were creating the situations in her life. Now I am back in the cycle. I had stopped drinking as part of a 16 week ritual, which is a form of worshipping Shakti (female Energy in India). I was fine through the 16 weeks and extended the abstinence through till the 14th of Jan because of some other auspicious days in the Hindu Calendar. Largely due to a lot of work on my self, over the last year the entire dynamic in my family has changed, and I can see the truth of the law of deliberate creation. Throughout that time, I would occassionally say to myself, maybe I should just give up drinking for life. As soon as I said that I would feel a pang of regret, because I do enjoy a good glass of wine and to be honest the buzz that goes with it. In any case I decided to drink a glass of wine on Sunday and then again yesterday. I am now feeling so bad, and so full of resistance and regret, and all the wonder and joy I felt when playing the prosperity game has gone, and I am losing the high level of positivity that I was riding. I know it seems simple and I could just say, fine if this is the feeling the drinking causes, I should just stop, but somehow that does not seem like a solution. I should add that when I say a glass of wine, I mean exavctly that, a single solitary glass of wine.. but the emotions attached to it are now so huge.. I am not sure how to overcome it.
Any help and advice would be really welcome
