January 1: The Essential Mindset
Welcome to the year 2007!
We're delighted that you've invited us to support you in harnessing the Law of Attraction to carry you through 2007.
~ A Different Mindset
Have you traditionally made New Year's 'resolutions' at the end of the year - only to find that the process did not really serve you?
If so, you'll be happy to learn that you can turn the energy of 'resolutions' around to give you a sure advantage.
In traditional goal setting, what do we do?
~ We look back on the year that we've just had
~ We bring our attention to what we feel has not been working in our life
~ We put ourselves under time contraints
~ We endeavor to create change using the energy of 'motivation'
In short, as we make our New Year's resolutions we are focusing on:
~ where we've been
~ what we don't want
~ time as a challenge and a constraint
~ and we set ourselves up to take 'motivated' as opposed to 'inspired' action. (We'll explore this essential distinction in future 'Kick Start' messages.)
The bottomline is: from a 'law of attraction' standpoint, the energy underlying traditional New Year's resolutions has us headed in the wrong direction.
~ Be easy about this...
For today - this first day of the New Year - go ahead and consider traditional 'resolutions' with the understanding that we'll be spending the next month together transforming all of our short-term 'motivated' goals into powerful, positive energy streams that will carry us towards what we most want.
BTW - I've written this message to you while in Paris where I was on holiday from Christmas to the end of the year. (Check out my Paris pictures at http://www.picturetrail.com/elysehope )
Let's toast to all of the possibilities inherent in this New Year!
Regards,

Prosperity from the Inside-Out

Boy, oh boy-am I in the right place. Prior to reading this, I thought about what I wanted my 2007 to be like. "In short," I thought, "I want to accomplish all that I didn't in 2006...2005...2004, etc." It is like my goals are on a sticky note that get moved from year to year. Now...let me go and re-think this and get inspired! :) Enjoy your day!

Hmm... that one got me thinking. A lot of the goal setting material I have read and tried has a decidedly negative focus - as per Mary's comment - and seems to revolve around as much what is not wanted and not on what is wanted.

i wrote a letter in the beginning of the year to a friend that lives far away - of how '07 went for me - i fully intend to send that letter for real, at the end of this year...
